Beginners to Advanced & Child to Adult

Our Academies were established by musicians and music teachers who had a mission to bring to the community a standard of excellence for music education. For thirty years this mission has been fulfilled by hiring the best teachers whose credentials support that philosophy. The owner/directors expanded the studio lesson model from teaching mostly guitar, to a full program offering instrumental instruction, voice, and visual art, with a faculty dedicated to teaching excellence in a warm, comfortable environment. Our facility houses twelve studios, a recital hall, and a visual art studio, all in a beautiful historical building in the thriving center of Gainesville’s commercial and academic district.

Music Theory Classes & Workshops

Music theory classes are offered for students who wish to move beyond the individual studio theory, as well as specialized theory in composition and song writing. Workshops are offered focusing on a variety of subjects. See the schedule on the Calendar page.

Lots of Ways to Study and Gain Experience: Classes, Lessons, Recitals, Ensembles

Our classes are mostly one-on-one instruction but we also have workshops and group classes at various times as well. Students are also encouraged to perform in ensembles and jam sessions through special workshops prepared by teachers who rehearse and train the young musicians for performances at recitals and other public venues. The diversity of our faculty means ensembles are available for many styles of music giving young students the opportunity to work with others at the same level.

Academy Players and Competitions

Several Academy teachers are members of the Music Teachers National Association, an accrediting organization, and students who study with member teachers may participate in Student Day and competitions associated with the national, state and local chapters. The Academy is also a member of the Federation of Music Clubs, and our chapter is the ACADEMY PLAYERS. Students may participate in the club festivals on the local, state and national levels.
